SUMMARY:      Over 17 years experience in electronic design of electronic design experience at all levelsOver 17 years of experience in electronic design at all levels:

o        Industry types: datacom, telecom, medical, military, hi-reliability, industrial, consumer, digital video, cellular and cable communication.

o        Topics:  digital, analog, FPGA, VHDL, verilog, µControllers-hardware & RT software, EMI/RFI and safety standards, design to cost, volume manufacturing, low power, high power and PCB design.

Extensive hands-on knowledge of high-speed digital design, VHDL and implementation in large FPGAs (had designed more than 28 FPGAs).

2000 to Present2003: Actelis Networks, Petach Tikva, Israel - is the first company to enable service providers to deliver high-quality broadband Telecom, ATM and Ethernet services over their existing? copper plant.

Position: Senior HW Design Engineer & Team Leader responsible for board and FPGA design in the following areas:

o        Involved MetaLight ML-2000, 1500, 100E and 3000 systems design.

o        Plesiochronous communication: DS1 and DS3 phy, framing, mapping and buffering .

o        ATM Over T3: TC Layer , cell congestion and buffering, traffic shaping & policing.

o        Ethernet 10/100BaseT: Phy, Flow control, QoS, RMON support, Burst buffering, VLAN.

o        System global (CO-RT) clock and buffering management.

o        Data Interpolator and Spatial Frame Mapper.

o        Advanced VHDL design, simulation and implementation in Altera FPGAs (APEX20).

 

1998 to 2000: Teledata Communication, Herzlia, Israel – develops and manufactures a broad range of products for Telecom and DataCom markets.

Position: Senior HW Design Engineer responsible for system, board and FPGA design in the areas of:

o        SDH – STM1: Framing, Mapping, Clock Synchronization for STRATUM-3 quality standard.

o        Advanced VHDL design, simulation and implementation in ORCA2 and ORCA3 FPGAs.

o        Feasibility study of implementation issues in ISDN and Multiplexing functionalities.  

o        Technical guidance of Hw design engineers involved in ISDN, PCM MUX, DCS and ADSL line cards design.

 

1997 to 1998: NogaTec, Givat Shmuel, Israel – developed ASICs targeted for use in digital USB cameras.

Position: HW Design Engineer responsible for board and FPGA design in purpose of ASIC prototyping and spec validation:

o        Digital Video and Video Compressor functionality.

o        USB-1 Core.

o        Verilog design and implementation in FLEX10K FPGA and MAX7K CPLD.

 

1996 to 1997: Cubital, Raanana, Israel – developed and manufactured systems for a rapid mechanical prototyping market.

Position: Electronic HW Team Manager responsible for:

o        Management and guidance of HW team dealing with maintenance and assembly of SOLIDER Rapid Prototyping machines.

o        Solving various problems and partial re-design in Motion Control, Yonography and Industrial Control.

 

1993 to 1996: H.M. Mikun, Gilon, Israel – provides autsoursing service of R&D services and solutions.

Position: Electronic Hw, SW and System Designer responsible for various turnkey projects and freelancing activities:

o        Digital (board and FPGA design), Analog, Power (motion control) and Medical Electronics design.

o        µC – hardware & software (C and ASM).

o        Biologic Signals Processing (ECG).

o        Cellular Communication (CDPD controller core design).

o        Industrial control: motion, sensors, power, software.

 

1990 to 1993: S.R.D. Medical, Shorashim, Israel – developed and manufactured various medical equipment.

Position: Electronic HW Designer responsible for:

o        Digital, analog and system design of EEG Systems (A monitoring system  being in use during surgery.)

o         “Focal point” for supporting various standards for EMC and Safety (VDE and IEC standards).

o        Leading the Hw design team.

o        Real time software design (Borland C).

 

1985 to 1990: Elbit Ltd, Haifa, Israel – develops and manufactures blroad range of military systems.

Position: Electronic HW Designer. Had been involved in design of 4 military projects:

o        Computerized Fire Control Systems.

o        Airborne Tactical Display Computer.

o        Smart Bomb: FLIR and Image Processing based autonomic guidance system.

 

1981 to 1985: Israel Defense Force

o        Maintenance of Passive Electronic Warfare system.
